Permission Slip Required A signed note from a qualified professor must be presented to the Librarian before entry. (Forged notes will result in detention and possibly a howler from your Head of House.)
Supervised Reading Only Students may not remove books from the Restricted Section. Reading is to be conducted under the Librarian’s watchful eye.
No Photocopying or Spell Duplication Magical reproduction of Restricted Section content is strictly prohibited by Ministry decree.
Curfew Compliance The Restricted Section is closed after hours. Any student caught within the library past curfew will be subject to disciplinary action.

Whispered about by students and seldom acknowledged by the staff, the Hogwarts Library ghost drifts silently between the towering shelves long after curfew. Known to some as The Whispering Scholar, this pale, translucent figure is said to be the lingering spirit of a long-forgotten librarian—or perhaps a student who read one forbidden spell too many.
